Due to increased growth within their confectionery sales they are looking to strengthen their Confectionery R&D function at the Product Technology Centre in Yorkshire.
The Product Technology Centre is the leading centre for confectionery research and development worldwide. It provides ideas, technical innovations, engineering and scientific support into the product, process and packaging development.
• Effectively manage the Kitchen function and the people working in it. To make continuous improvements to the Confectioner operation and the level of service provided.
• Plan & allocate Confectioner resources to meet the requirements of the in house R&D team. Liase with all other departments to ensure the smooth running of the Confectioners as a resource to the product technology centre.
• Advise and assist projects manager/leaders in the work of confectioners to ensure safe, hygienic and efficient operation.
• Ensure that GMP traceability, NQMS, SOP safely guidelines, NEMS, hygiene and quality procedures are applied.
• Develop, monitor and maintain systems and procedures to assist with planning, allocation and control of the kitchen function
• Assist in the recruitment process, train and develop people to ensure high quality competencies. Identify to the Department Head training or experience opportunities for members of the confectioner department.
• Motivate department members to integrate them into a coherent group. Managing daily assignments of the confectioners to ensure maximum efficiency of their work.
• Manage trials, food safety systems within the kitchen, and ensure and up to date knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene requirements ensuring full compliance and CI.
Personal Specifications:
The type of person we are looking to fill this Confectioner Group Leader role will demonstrate:
You will have at least 10 years experience as a Confectioner, you will have managed a team and have the ability to motivate a team of highly creative confectioners. You will have experience of project management and meeting timescales and deadlines set within a manufacturing environment. High levels of communication and influencing skills are essential.
