Due to increased growth within their confectionery sales they are looking to strengthen their Confectionery R&D function at the Product Technology Centre in Yorkshire.
The Product Technology Centre is the leading centre for confectionery research and development worldwide. It provides ideas, technical innovations, engineering and scientific support into the product, process and packaging development.
• Managing cross functional projects: preparing project proposals, resource planning and driving completion.
• Providing operational support to group, assisting in manufacturing start ups and follow up product lauches.
• Managing relationships with external service suppliers and internal business units
• Driving new ideas and proposing new raw materials, processes, products and systems.
The type of person we are looking to fill this Senior Product Technologist role will demonstrate:
Personal Specifications:
You will demonstrate excellent project management experience, preferably with R&D experience and ideally have chocolate experience. You will be able to demonstrate strong customer focus and have the ability to influence at all levels and function areas, enthusiasm and initiative are a must.
Degree or equivalent in Food Technology/Science. Excellent project management experience with a proven track record for delivering projects cross functionally.
• Commitment: To ensure that you get success from your achievements – plan to succeed; set targets and timelines; be committed to the end and do not be afraid to get help along the way.
• Team work: The “team” is about everyone - demonstrate support to colleagues and your peer group and motivate and support your Team Managers sharing good news and bad news in a positive manner to ensure that everyone in your department understands what makes the business a success.
• Communication: To be able to communicate clearly, at all levels, both verbally and via electronic mail/correspondence where necessary to get the right message across.
• Leadership: Lead by Example and be able to guide and coach your team in the best working practices and behaviours expected of our Business to ensure they consistently demonstrate good performance and are not afraid to make their own personal contribution when required.
• Trust: Be able to keep confidences and promises to your colleagues, peer group and team members and ensure that the company values are adhered to at all times.
• Simplicity / Innovation: Keep the work ethic simple whilst being innovative and forward thinking when running your Department so that everyone can play a part in it.
